Are you looking for an instructive internship in the world of transport and logistics? Would you like to learn the basics of planning and provide support in a dynamic environment? Then this internship is for you!

As an intern, you will learn the basics of planning and organisation. You will support administrative tasks, such as entering and checking bookings. In addition, you will be involved in truck planning, scheduling charters, providing guidance and taking care of the necessary documents. You also help with barge planning by making schedules for deliveries and pick-ups in Rotterdam. You will work closely with the planners and have the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic logistics environment.

Container Terminal Doesburg (CTD) engages in the transhipment of sea containers between companies in the region and inland waterways. Container ships are used to transport containers to and from the seaports. The Container Terminal Doesburg handles the entire logistics operation at the container terminal and is responsible for setting up and dropping off containers at companies.

What will you do as a planning intern?

Your duties will include:

  • Keep contact with barge operators and skippers.
  • Monitoring the progress of unloading and loading activities and making adjustments where necessary.
  • Processing logistics documents.
  • Assist in process optimisation and workflow improvement.
  • Update information on planning procedures and incorporate newly acquired experience.
  • Assist with truck scheduling administration, such as scheduling charters and taking care of documents.
  • Assist with barge planning for deliveries and pick-ups in Rotterdam.

What are we looking for?

  • You are following an MBO (level 4) course in Logistics or similar.
  • You have an interest in transport and logistics and are willing to learn.
  • You work accurately and have a flexible attitude.
  • You have good communication skills and can work well together.
  • You have a proactive attitude and can switch quickly in a dynamic working environment.
  • You speak and write Dutch well, knowledge of English is a plus.
